Located at 804 meters above sea level, San Mauro di Saline is a municipality located in the central-eastern part of Lessinia, in the province of Verona.
It lies at the foot of the highland and has always been devoted to agriculture and livestock. In particular, its history is linked to the presence of the chestnut, which fruits represent a very important resource for the territory.
The DOC chestnuts, today considered an elite product, have given life to one of the most famous events in Lessinia: the Chestnut Festival, an event that takes place in the last week of October, in which hundreds of curious enthusiasts participate every year.
Not far from the centre, in an oasis where time seems to have stopped and where magic and peace reign, the beautiful Pieve di San Moro is located.
