The
Forest of Folignani, alongside the
Forest of Giazza, is one of the largest and most distinctive forests in
Lessinia and is situated between the municipalities of
Bosco Chiesanuova and
Erbezzo. It covers the slopes of the
Vajo dell'Anguilla and is the area that has best preserved its natural features. Mainly formed of large beech, silver fir and hop-hornbeam trees, various animal and plant species call it home. Like the
Forest of Giazza, the area is classified as a Special Nature Reserve of the park and also falls within the Special Area of Conservation IT 3210040 'Monti Lessini – Pasubio – Piccole Dolomiti Vicentine'. For those who love hiking in the shade of vast trees, the Forest of Folignani is the place to be. Starting from the
Rifugio Bocca di Selva or the
Ponte dell'Anguilla, along the road that connects the two municipalities, there are many possible itineraries to be followed.
