Circular walk starting and finishing in San Francesco, exploring the local hamlets and woods.
Itinerary: San Francesco – Gauli – Masenello – Scrovazze – Laorno – Scrovazze – Squarantello – San Francesco
Starting in San Francesco (Roverè Veronese), heading in the direction of Valdiporro. After around 200 metres, follow the road that leads to Contrada Gauli: go through the hamlet and take the flat path into the woods. Continue until you come to a dirt road at the end of the path; keep right and follow this road. Pass the small hut on the right and go through one gate until you reach a second, which connects with the paved road. Once you go through the second gate, keep left to reach Contrada Masenello. Go through the hamlet until you reach a large space with a gate on the right. As soon as you pass the gate, turn left immediately and go downhill into the pasture, keeping to the left. After a few dozen metres, you will find the signpost – the path continues within the wood. Keep an eye out! The path is downhill and continues as far as Malga Scrovazze. Once you reach the 'malga' (farmstead), keep right and continue towards the dirt road for about 200 metres until you see the signs for Laorno. Turn left, making a sort of 'U', and continue along the dirt road for about twenty minutes until you reach Contrada Laorno. On the way back, when you get back to Malga Scrovazze, instead of taking the same path you followed previously, you can continue straight along the dirt road until you reach Contrada Squarantello. At that point, keep left and continue along the main road for about 1.5 km until you get back to San Francesco.
